Scott Walters Joins Helm Partners as Director of Information Security
November 12, 2019
Helm Partners is pleased to announce Scott Walters as our Director of Information Security. Walters will be responsible for Helm’s internal security and building a security practice for Helm’s customers.
Meet Scott Walters
Walters has over 20 years of information security experience as an entrepreneur, owner, executive, and operator. He has hands-on experience dealing with the challenges organizations face, with specific knowledge in compliances across industry verticals.
Information security and compliance is becoming an increasingly complex and difficult landscape for businesses to navigate, said Walters. I am excited to leverage my experience for Helm internally.
I will also take our expertise to our clients and guide them to the best solutions for their organization.
Frequently, I see owners and staff that genuinely care about keeping the company safe from cyber threats but aren’t able to separate the wheat from the chaff on what they really need.
Scott’s background gives him unique insights as a fluent translator between the worlds of security and business.
Also, he excels in helping companies understand their security posture and risk profile, delivering a concise assessment of where they stand and what their vulnerabilities are.
Then, he manages to connect these particularities to best practices and solutions that improve quality, profitability and business performance.
These unique qualifications enable Scott to help businesses identify their most important security items to focus on; and subsequently, develop an action plan to execute, measure and adapt in today’s increasingly challenging threat environment.
Do we need to add more to Rich Wilson’s thoughts, partner and CEO of Helm, about Walters and his impressive capabilities?

At INetU, now Flexential, Scott built the Security Operations Center (SOC) and was responsible for PCI DSS, SSAE 16,ISAE 3402, SOC 2, and SOC 3 compliance and audit programs.
